The Business And Mindfulness Mastermind

is a community of leaders of sole entrepreneurships, small and medium businesses who are integrating mindfulness into their business. This does not just mean meditating at the beginning of the day or running a three-day seminar on teamwork, but creating a business culture based on the principles of mindfulness in a holistic, inclusive manifestation of the business environment.

A mastermind group can significantly benefit your business by providing a platform for sharing knowledge, resources, and advice, thus increasing your chances of success. It fosters a commitment to growth, accountability, and support among professionals.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a state of being present in the moment - as Ram Das's book's title "Be Here Now" summarizes. By being present with intention, one is not consumed with judging the past or having anxiety about the future.

The Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist who was expelled from Vietnam during the Vietnam War, is often credited with bringing Mindfulness to the West. His key teaching was that, through mindfulness, we can learn to live happily in the present moment—the only way to truly develop peace, both in one’s self and in the world.

Especially today, Mindfulness offers an alternative to the constant inflow of information we process, performing tasks by route, objectifying people and instead allows us to make decisions, acting with intention and meaning.

A nice summary of Mindfulness was written by Jon Kabat-Zinn, a student of Thich Nhat Hanh, in "Wherever You Go, There You Are":

“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. This kind of attention nurtures greater awareness, clarity, and acceptance of present-moment reality.”

What is a Mastermind?

Mastermind Groups are often confused with networking groups. While Mastermind Groups may have a networking element, their primary purpose is to help their members in business development. These peer groups can be thought of as an alternative to a business' board and thereby instead of having an in-house board of directors, having a group of peers who help each other along the same path in a cooperative environment. This fits well within Mindfulness teachings.

These groups have a long history of notables as members including Benjamin Franklin who started Junto, Theodore Roosevelt's mastermind group and The Vagabonds, whose members included President Harding, Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Some say that this model goes back to King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table.

In modern times there are many mastermind groups, participants including Bill Gates, Andrew Carnegie, Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, and Charles Schwab.

Now is your turn to step up, not to be alone on your journey and to join now.
